Pupil Premium
At Mapperley Plains Primary and Nursery School, we want every child to feel supported, valued and able to achieve their best, regardless of background or circumstance.
The Pupil Premium is additional funding provided by the government to help schools support disadvantaged pupils and reduce barriers which may affect learning and progress.
Funding may be provided for children who are eligible for Free School Meals, have been eligible within the last six years, are looked after or previously looked after by a local authority, or whose parents serve in the armed forces.
At Mapperley Plains, this funding helps us provide additional academic support, pastoral care and wider opportunities for children across the school. Support may include targeted teaching, intervention programmes, wellbeing support, attendance work, enrichment activities and resources to help children fully access school life.
Further information about how funding is used, the priorities identified by the school and the impact of our work can be found in our Pupil Premium Strategy Statement below.
Could your child be eligible?
Some families may be entitled to benefit-related Free School Meals, depending on individual circumstances and qualifying benefits.
Even if your child prefers packed lunches, registering can still make a difference. The funding provided to school helps us continue to offer additional support and opportunities for children.
Applications are made through Nottinghamshire County Council. If you would like any help or advice about the process, please contact the school office in confidence and we will be happy to support you.
