SENCO: 3 days per week, non teaching leadership role
Mapperley Plains Primary and Nursery School is seeking to appoint an experienced and committed Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) to join our school on a permanent, part-time basis (three days per week).
This is a non teaching senior leadership role with whole school responsibility for SEND and inclusion. Working closely with the Head Teacher and leadership team, the successful candidate will provide strategic and operational leadership of SEND, ensuring that provision for children with additional needs is well coordinated, compliant with statutory guidance and has a positive impact on outcomes, wellbeing and personal development.
The role also includes responsibility as the school’s Designated Teacher for looked after and previously looked after children, with strategic oversight of provision, progress and wellbeing, working closely with the Virtual School, social care professionals and families.
