Please contact the school office if you would like to discuss your child's needs or arrange a meeting.
At Mapperley Plains Primary and Nursery School, we believe that every child should feel valued, included and supported to achieve their full potential. We recognise that children learn in different ways and that some children may need additional support during their time at school.
We work closely with children, families and external professionals to identify needs at the earliest opportunity and provide support that is tailored to each child. Our aim is to ensure that all children can access a broad and ambitious curriculum, make good progress and enjoy being part of school life.
The first step in supporting children with SEND is through high-quality teaching in the classroom. Where additional support is needed, we work with families to plan appropriate provision and review this regularly to ensure it is having a positive impact. We value the contribution that parents and carers make and believe that strong partnerships between home and school are essential in helping children to succeed.
Where appropriate, we work alongside a range of external professionals, including Educational Psychologists, specialist teaching services, health professionals and the Local Authority SEND Team, to ensure children receive the support they need.
If you have any questions about SEND provision at Mapperley Plains Primary and Nursery School, please contact Mrs Smith through the school office, who will be happy to help.
